Protix, a pioneer in sustainable proteins and fats, uses the larvae of the black soldier fly to offer a unique solution for the food industry. With this approach, they produce healthy and circular ingredients for pets, livestock, fish and more. Protix has grown from a start-up into a scale-up, creating the need for a strong international digital platform to convey their message and claim thought leadership.

Challenge
Now that Protix has grown into a scale-up, increasing international visibility is essential. Steps are already being taken through a collaboration with the American company Tyson Foods. With a new brand identity, Protix is ready to establish itself as a recognised name within the food industry. And of course, that requires a website that delivers the right digital brand experience.
A website that positions them as an authority within the circular economy and clearly communicates the benefits of their approach. This website must address their different target groups in the right way. These are not only customers, but also stakeholders such as the press and scientists. In addition to this segmentation and positioning, there is a need for a clear structure and an appealing look and feel, a technically solid site, integration with Protix’s CRM system and an optimal foundation for SEO.

Our approach
To optimally support Protix in their scale-up phase, we developed a strategy in which practical information, inspiring stories and thought leadership take centre stage.
1. Strategic fase
- Through several workshops, all stakeholders from the different target groups were interviewed. Based on the insights from these sessions, concepts were developed that allow each audience to be served in the best possible way.
- The focus was on practical information, inspiring stories and insightful content that positions Protix as a thought leader.
- Finally, concepts were created to convey Protix’s story and ambition in ways that are just as innovative as Protix itself.
2. Website design and development
- We developed a headless website based on Storyblok, enabling Protix to easily create visually engaging pages.
- The site is connected to Protix’s CRM system for seamless data collection.
3. Continuous optimisation
- Through a dedicated roadmap, we continuously optimise the website to better meet the needs of the various target audiences.
